What A Cranky Baby!!

Aiden has been having a pretty hard time today. We think that he might be teething since he has been drooling more than usual and chewing on his hands. We are having trouble consoling him and the only thing that makes him feel better is baby orajel and a warm bath. Except he hates the taste of the orajel and makes the funniest face when we give it to him, as can be seen in this picture:

Trick Or Treat!!

Last night Aiden went trick or treating with Nana and Mommy. He was so cute in his little monkey costume. Daddy wanted to go but he had to work, so we took him up to a Halloween festival in the city park. He lasted all of about 20 minutes before he fell asleep.

Pumpkin Carving

Tonight we carved a pumpkin to celebrate Aiden's first Halloween. Daddy did all the work while Mommy cleaned up all the mess. We carved a monkey since that is Aiden's nickname.

Today we took Aiden to the park by our house. We thought it might be good for him to get some fresh air and sun. He really enjoyed it. We were even courageous enough to take him on the swings. Needless to say he passed out after all of the fun adventures.

Our Hospital Stay

Aiden was so well behaved the entire time we were in the hospital. He barley cried except when he was really hungry and when he got circumcised. He stayed in the room with mommy and daddy the whole time minus the few times he had to go to the nursery for checkups. It was a good stay except we had Tropical Storm Fay going through Florida at the time.

So many visitors for our little man!!

We are so thankful for everyone who came to see us in the hospital. I wish I had pictures of everyone with Aiden, but I was a little too sleep deprived to think of it at the time. Aiden's Aunt Ashley came to see him as well as mommy and daddy's friends Nicole and Geneo.

Aiden's Grand Entrance!!

Shaun and I arrived at the hospital at 4am to be induced at 5am. We checked in and the nurse took us upstairs around 4:45. I changed and they started and IV. 15 minutes later the nurse started a Pitocin drip. Shaun left at 7 to go home and pick up the dogs and take them to the boarding place. About 10 minutes after he left contractions started. at 7:30 Dr. Gibbs arrived and checked me, I was only 1cm so he decided to break my water. At 8 my midwife showed up and checked me, she said that I was 2cm. They increased my Pitocin. My mom came around 8:30 and Shaun came back shortly after her. They contraction started coming alot closer and alot stronger. I tried walking the halls, taking a bath and rolling on the birthing ball. Nothing helped, so at 12pm and only 3cm, 7 hours after labor started I asked for an epidural. Getting the epidural was not as bad as I expected, but the doctor kept "tickling" my nerve. That was not fun. After that was over my mom left and Shaun and I took a nap. At 5:30 my midwife came back and checked me. She said I was 6cm and that I would probally have him sometime that night and she would be back after she finished the c-section she was doing. Somewhere around 6:20 the pressure became unberable and I asked for some more medicine. The anestielogist gave me a sitting epidural. That made me happy for all of 20 minutes. At 7pm the nurse checked me and said I was at 9cm and that they would call the doctors, but the doctors were still in the c-section so I would have to wait. Well at 7:20 I couldnt wait anymore and asked to be checked again, the nurse said I was complete and that I could start pushing. Right as I started pushing the doctors walked in. 3 contractions worth of pushing and Aiden Gray made his grand entrance into the world. He was born at 7:32pm weighing 6lbs1oz and he was 19.5 in long. His first breath took ours away.
